One year ago, we launched Here For Good, a three-year initiative to position Current toward a more permanent home and a lasting presence in Silicon Valley.
The name carries a double meaning that reflects the heart of Current. We believe God is calling us to put down more permanent roots here in Silicon Valley, to be a church that is here for good, not just for a season. And we long for our presence to make a lasting difference in the name of Jesus, bringing both gospel hope and tangible impact to our community.
When we started this initiative, we said, “It will take a miracle to get us into a building in Silicon Valley, but wherever God leads, we seek to follow in faith.” Today, we believe we are on the cusp of seeing that miracle become a reality.
We always knew it would take more. Now we better understand what “more” means: in addition to having secured a loan, our gap to complete construction and outfit the space may be as much as $10M.
